WarningSum:...Windy Weather Coming For Central And Southeastern Illinois...

Warning Message:A strong low pressure system will develop over the plains on
Tuesday...and rapidly deepen as it moves northeastward to the
north of Minnesota by the end of the day. The strong pressure
gradient between this low and a high pressure system over the Gulf
states will result in strong and gusty winds for much of Illinois.
Expect winds to increase Monday night out of the south...with
winds switching to westerly behind a cold front that will move
through the area by Tuesday morning. The winds will then begin to
decrease somewhat on Wednesday as high pressure over The Rockies
moves through the plains and into the Midwest.
Many locations will see sustained winds in the 25 to 35 mph
range...along with gusts above 40 mph beginning Monday night and
lasting through Tuesday night.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Be sure that loose outdoor objects such as lawn furniture and
potted plants are either secured or moved indoors. Driver of high
profile vehicles may experience difficulty...especially on north-
south roads.
