Warning Description: Winter Storm Warning
Warning Date: 9:19 PM CST on February 8, 2010
WarningSum:...Winter Storm Warning Remains In Effect Until Noon Cst
Wednesday...
Warning Message:A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until noon CST
Wednesday.
* Timing...snow has begun over the area and will continue
through the night and into Tuesday. Most of the accumulation
will occur tonight into early Tuesday. The blowing and
drifting of the snow will begin Tuesday afternoon and continue
through Wednesday morning.
* Accumulations...totals of 6 to 8 inches are expected through the
duration of the event...with the highest totals north of I-74.
* Wind...northwest winds will increase late Tuesday
afternoon...and will gust to 30 to 35 mph through Wednesday
morning.
* Impacts...roads will become snow packed and slippery making
travel hazardous through the period. The strong gusty winds
will also create blowing and drifting of the snow...adding to
the hazardous driving conditions. Additionally...wind chills
will fall to near zero Tuesday night.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
emergency. If you must travel...keep an extra flashlight...food...
and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

Warning Message:The Flood Warning continues for
the Illinois River at Havana.
* Until Thursday morning.
* At 730 PM Monday the stage was 14.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
early Thursday morning.
* Impact...at 14.0 feet...minor flooding begins to agricultural areas
not protected by levees.
